Millions of people battle alcohol addiction and related mental health issues every single day. This disorder can derail each part of an individual’s life, causing dysfunction in their families, difficulty in their social lives, and increased stress on both their bodies and minds. No matter how severe a person’s condition is, alcohol rehab in Marietta can help. Our facility offers effective treatment plans to address each client’s unique needs on an individualized level.

What is Alcoholism?

Alcoholism refers to an often progressive medical disorder characterized by an uncontrollable and damaging overconsumption of alcohol. Those facing alcohol use disorder (AUD) are negatively impacted by their compulsive need to drink yet are unable to quit drinking due to the severity of their addiction. Cognitive changes, including long-term brain damage, can occur due to alcoholism, which yields a multitude of mental repercussions. Thankfully, this condition is treatable, and those suffering can find relief. Our alcohol rehab in Marietta promotes symptom management and healthy coping skills, facilitating recovery on a long-term scale.

Signs and Symptoms of Alcohol Use Disorder

Individuals with AUD fit within one of three categories based on the progression of their condition. These include: mild, moderate, and severe. Several identifiers can be recognized within each stage of this addiction. Common signs and symptoms of alcoholism include:

How Do I Know I Need Alcohol Rehab?

An individual exhibiting any of the aforementioned symptoms of alcoholism should seek professional treatment. There are several factors that can play a role in the development of AUD. These include environmental, genetic, and psychological predispositions.

Additionally, mental health conditions have been linked to alcoholism. Anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder may co-occur with AUD. For this reason, Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery offers dual diagnosis treatment that addresses the two conditions simultaneously.

Our Marietta Alcohol Rehab Programs

Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery is a leading treatment center for alcoholism, addiction, and co-occurring mental health issues in the Atlanta area. We are proud to employ some of the most knowledgeable and skilled professionals in the mental health and addiction fields. Our team understands the complexities of each individual’s circumstances and the challenges in their unique journey. That’s why we are committed to providing extensive support to clients during every level of their treatment.

We partner with inpatient providers for detox and residential treatment. After that, clients will be ready to enter our outpatient levels of care, starting at partial hospitalization.

The following are the levels of care needed to recover from alcohol addiction and mental health challenges:

Detox

Alcohol detox is associated with severe withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms can prove dangerous, even fatal, when an individual is not properly monitored. Through medication management and consistent supervision, professional alcohol detox allows individuals to safely withdraw. Thoroughbred partners with exceptional detox centers that prepare individuals to enter treatment with a healthy body and clear mind.

Inpatient Rehab

Also known as residential treatment, inpatient rehab is designed for those in need of 24/7 supervision and care. Participants reside on-site while undergoing treatment sessions. We partner with reputable inpatient facilities that allow clients to establish a strong position in recovery before transitioning to one of our outpatient programs.

Our PHP provides an extensive level of support and structure while allowing clients to return home or to a sober living facility in the evenings. This weekday program includes five days of treatment, with each PHP session lasting approximately four hours.

Offering a greater sense of flexibility than a PHP, our IOP is ideal for those transitioning from higher levels of care. Our clients attend their IOP three to five days a week for three hours per day. This balance of increased independence and unwavering support allows clients to uphold personal and professional obligations while undergoing treatment.

The least intensive treatment level, outpatient programs center on helping individuals rejoin society. With a solid foundation in recovery, participants can integrate back into their daily lives while maintaining their sobriety. Clients can work, attend school, and spend time with supportive loved ones during this type of programming.

Our Holistic Approach To Treating Alcoholism

Our center believes in a holistic approach to healing. This involves caring for a person’s emotional, behavioral, and physical health. Those attending our alcohol rehab will have an individualized treatment plan that includes a combination of the following:

In addition to evidence-based therapies, we offer alternative healing strategies. These peaceful practices include yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. Not only does this type of treatment allow a person to improve the way they cope with temptation and triggers, but it also teaches them to manage and reduce stress in a healthy way.

Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery offers a specific emphasis on equine-assisted therapy. This is a unique form of holistic therapy that includes horses in alcoholism treatment. Clients who participate in this program are given the opportunity to bond with, care for, and lead these gentle animals. This practice is exceedingly beneficial for those struggling with addiction as tending to another living thing allows them to develop a sense of responsibility, understand the importance of self-care, gain confidence, garner empathy, and cultivate a sense of trust in both themselves and others.

How Long Does Alcohol Rehab Last?

The length of alcohol rehab varies depending on several factors. These include how often a person drinks, how long they have been drinking, and how much they drink. Age, overall health, living environment, underlying causes, and genetic predispositions can also impact this timeline.

The ultimate objective of alcohol rehab in Marietta is for an individual to establish a solid foundation for recovery. At the end of their continuum of care, individuals should be prepared to reenter the world feeling secure in their sobriety and confident in how they will handle inevitable triggers. This can take a few months or over a year. Outpatient treatment is typically transitioned to after detox and inpatient treatment.
