Prescription drug addiction is a growing concern across the country. What often begins as a legitimate treatment for pain, anxiety, or other medical issues can spiral into dependency, leading to severe physical, emotional, and psychological consequences.
At our prescription drug rehab facility in Georgia, we provide comprehensive, personalized treatment programs designed to help individuals overcome addiction and reclaim their lives.
Prescription drug addiction occurs when someone becomes physically or psychologically dependent on medications that were prescribed by a doctor. The most commonly abused prescription drugs include opioids (such as OxyContin and Vicodin), benzodiazepines (such as Xanax and Valium), and stimulants (such as Adderall and Ritalin). Despite their legitimate medical uses, these drugs have high potential for abuse and addiction, leading many individuals down a path of dependency.
Prescription drug addiction can be challenging to recognize, as it often begins with using the drug as directed. However, over time, individuals may exhibit the following signs and symptoms:
Addiction to prescription drugs can have devastating consequences on a person’s health, relationships, and overall well-being. Treatment is essential because it offers a structured and supportive environment where individuals can safely find accountability, and learn healthy coping mechanisms. Without professional help, many people find it difficult to break the cycle of addiction due to the physical and psychological cravings associated with prescription drug dependency.
At Thoroughbred Recovery we offer multiple levels of care to help you or your loved one overcome prescription drug addiction. Our programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual, ensuring they receive the care and support they need at every stage of recovery.
For those who require a high level of care but don’t need 24/7 supervision, our partial hospitalization program offers intensive treatment during the day, allowing individuals to return home or to a sober living environment in the evenings. PHP is ideal for individuals transitioning from inpatient care or for those who require more structured support.
Our intensive outpatient program offers flexibility for individuals who may need to maintain work, school, or family commitments while still receiving treatment. IOP allows individuals to attend therapy sessions and treatment activities multiple times per week while living at home. This program focuses on relapse prevention, developing coping mechanisms, and maintaining accountability.
Outpatient rehab is the least intensive level of care and is often recommended for those who have completed higher levels of treatment and are ready to transition back into daily life. This program offers continued support through therapy, counseling, and medication management on a less frequent basis.
Treating prescription drug addiction requires a multi-faceted approach that addresses the underlying causes of addiction as well as the physical dependency. At our prescription drug rehab, we utilize evidence-based therapies that have been proven effective in helping individuals overcome addiction, including:
