Heroin Addiction Treatment

Heroin is a highly addictive opioid that severely impacts a person’s overall health and daily life, as well as their mental well-being. Through heroin addiction treatment in Georgia, individuals can achieve the drug-free life they deserve. Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery addresses the physical, psychological, and behavioral facets of heroin addiction and related mental health challenges. Our evidence-based therapies and holistic strategies encourage clients to build a stable foundation for long-lasting recovery.

About Heroin Addiction

Heroin is a potent drug that alters an individual’s brain’s chemistry, creating extreme euphoria. This makes it incredibly easy for those using the substance to develop an overwhelming dependency. People battling addiction to this opioid commonly experience a change in physical appearance. This includes rapid weight loss, bruising, poor self-care, and track marks. If a person does not pursue heroin addiction treatment, they are at a high risk for overdose and death.

According to the U.S. National Institute on Drug Abuse, heroin-related fatalities have surged by 600% in the last fifteen years. This highlights the urgent need for effective detox, comprehensive treatment, and continued support.

Signs and Symptoms of Heroin Addiction

It is important for people to be aware of the indicators of heroin addiction so that they can seek help for themselves or their loved ones. The specific symptoms a person experiences depend on the severity of their condition. The markers of heroin addiction can be divided into the three categories below.

Our Heroin Addiction Treatment Programs in Georgia

We provide a diverse range of programs designed to give our clients the comprehensive care they deserve. At Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery, our primary goal is to support long-term healing and lasting sobriety. Our heroin rehab programs are committed to delivering top-quality care, focusing on the development of healthy coping strategies and sustainable habits for a successful recovery.

While we don’t provide inpatient rehab or detox, we partner with providers who offer these services. After that, clients will be ready for our outpatient levels of care beginning with partial hospitalization.

The following are the levels of care clients can expect as they go through heroin addiction treatment:

Starting addiction treatment with a clean slate is crucial for effective recovery. Those in need of detox should seek professional care, as withdrawal symptoms can be severe and potentially dangerous without proper supervision. To ensure safety and comfort during this process, we collaborate with trusted detox centers that provide a secure and supportive environment for individuals to manage withdrawal and prepare for the next stages of their recovery journey.

Residential or inpatient rehab is best suited for individuals who require round-the-clock supervision and care during their treatment. Participants reside at the facility throughout the program, receiving intensive support. At Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery, we collaborate with reputable inpatient centers that help clients establish a solid foundation in their recovery before transitioning to our outpatient programs.

Our most comprehensive level of care, partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), provide essential structure and continuous support while allowing clients to live at home or in a sober living environment. Participants typically attend treatment sessions five days a week, with each session lasting about four hours.

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is typically a step down from a PHP, offering clients a greater degree of independence while still providing a higher level of care than traditional outpatient services. Clients in our IOP attend sessions three to five days a week, with each session lasting several hours.

Outpatient programs, which offer the least structured form of treatment, are designed to help individuals smoothly reintegrate back into their daily lives. With a strong recovery foundation in place, participants can confidently re-enter society while maintaining their sobriety.

Why Choose Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery

At Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery, we prioritize equine-assisted therapy as a key component of our holistic treatment approach. This therapeutic method, which involves interacting with and caring for horses, is designed to improve communication and problem-solving skills while building empathy, confidence, trust, and emotional awareness. Participation in this program is optional, but it offers significant benefits for personal growth and healing.

In addition to equine-assisted therapy, our heroin rehab program emphasizes the importance of peer involvement and group therapy. These sessions provide a platform for open communication and connection with others, helping to reduce the feelings of isolation that are often associated with the recovery process.
