How Our Addiction Treatment Programs Work

Our specialized programs tackle the root causes of addiction and guide clients toward a fulfilling life marked by clarity, sobriety, and purpose. Therapy is offered in various formats—individual, group, or family settings—allowing clients to focus on personal growth, reduce the stigma associated with addiction, and foster a supportive community. Holistic approaches like equine-assisted therapy and mindfulness are incorporated to help clients develop effective coping mechanisms and adapt to their new, sober lifestyle.

We offer a comprehensive range of care tailored to each individual with evidence-based and holistic strategies to maximize the potential for long-term recovery. Each client is given a unique treatment plan and is then provided with continuous support throughout their recovery journey. We want every person who walks through our doors to re-enter their daily lives with confidence and readiness.

Our Georgia Addiction Treatment Programs

Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery is here to guide each client through their full continuum of care. Sustainable sobriety and lasting recovery are the most important things to us, and our staff is prepared to equip clients with the tools they need to succeed. Our treatment programs are developed based on multiple factors, including the severity of a client’s addiction, their history of both addiction and mental illness, and their overall well-being. Following a thorough assessment, individuals will begin one of the following forms of treatment.

Supervised detox allows individuals to undergo withdrawal symptoms in a secure environment. This type of 24/7 care is needed to ensure a person’s safety throughout the detox process as well as allow them to begin treatment with a clear mindset and healthy body. Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery partners with reputable detox centers in the area as we want to make sure our clients begin treatment on the right foot.

Commonly known as residential treatment, inpatient rehab is designed for those requiring constant supervision and a consistent living environment. Those in this form of treatment live on the property until they are ready to transition to outpatient programming. Similar to detox programs, we align ourselves with local inpatient rehabs that provide our clients with an excellent foundation for recovery.

Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) are the most intensive level of care that we offer. This type of program supplies necessary structure and ongoing support while letting participants reside at home, granted that their environment is stable, or at a sober living facility. PHP clients attend treatment sessions five days a week, with each session lasting about four hours.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is usually considered a step down from more comprehensive forms of treatment. IOPs provide clients with a more significant degree of independence but still facilitate a more intensive level of care than one would find in traditional outpatient programming. Those participating in our IOP attend sessions three to five days a week, with each session lasting a few hours.

Traditional outpatient programs are not as structured as higher levels of treatment. Instead, they are intended to allow individuals to apply the skills they learned in treatment to their daily lives. This final step sets clients up for a happy transition back into society while still having the support of our compassionate team.

Our outpatient program offers one individual therapy session per week. Additionally, clients can participate in one or two group sessions per week, for a total of three to four hours. However, clients must attend each session on different days of the week.

What Substances Require Treatment?

Those with an addiction to any prescription or illicit substance can thoroughly benefit from professional intervention. Due to the dangerous nature of withdrawal symptoms, it is crucial that those battling substance use disorder do not quit cold turkey but, instead, undergo detox at a reputable facility. Following detox, individuals must engage in a full continuum of care in order to ensure their best treatment outcomes. Drugs addressed at our substance abuse treatment programs in Georgia include, but are not limited to, the following:

Additionally, we are proud to offer comprehensive dual diagnosis treatment. This allows our team to address an individual’s addiction as well as any co-occurring mental illness simultaneously, as this significantly improves their chances of a successful recovery.

Why Choose Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery

At Thoroughbred Wellness and Recovery Health, we emphasize equine-assisted therapy as a central element of our programs. This strategy, which involves engaging with and caring for horses, aims to enhance communication and problem-solving abilities while promoting empathy, confidence, trust, and emotional insight. Although participation in this therapy is optional, it offers substantial benefits.

Alongside equine-assisted therapy, our treatment programs in Georgia highlight the consistent value of peer involvement and group therapy. These sessions create opportunities for open dialogue and connection, helping to alleviate the sense of isolation that can unfortunately accompany the recovery journey for both addiction and mental health.
