Drug and alcohol detox is ideal for those entering initial treatment. Quitting cold turkey can lead to devastating consequences, so it is imperative that individuals do not detox at home. Additionally, it is important to complete detox prior to entering inpatient rehab or a partial hospitalization program. This way, a person is beginning treatment sober and clear-headed.
Anyone addicted to drugs and alcohol can benefit from detox. This includes those addicted to opioids, stimulants, benzodiazepines, and any form of prescription medication. Detox can also help those addicted to marijuana and kratom.
Detox begins with an initial assessment. From there, the care team will cultivate a personalized treatment plan unique to each client’s needs. Once detox begins, an individual will be medically monitored for any abnormalities or complications. As withdrawal symptoms run their course, clients will be kept comfortable in every way possible. For many, detox involves medication management. This allows individuals to taper off drugs and alcohol at a comfortable rate while minimizing the dangers associated with withdrawal.
During detox in Marietta, Georgia, individuals may participate in different forms of therapy, holistic strategies, and peer settings. This prepares them to enter their next phase of treatment with sobriety, clarity, and confidence.
